The process of your registration, health screening, and document verification will take place at Srinagar only. Our Trek Leader will help you with all these. If you reach early, you may go for a local sightseeing tour (extra chargeable). Overnight stay at hotel in Srinagar.
Drive Duration: 3-4 hours | Drive Distance: 103 km
We drive from Srinagar to Aru. There is no right gravel road to the Aru from Srinagar hence, we would have to enroot via Pahalgam. The journey is laid across the River Lidder, and words might fall short when describing this cute little of a place that lives up to its name.
Overnight Stay at Aru Village.
Trek distance: 10 km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude gain: 7,920 Ft – 9,150 Ft
Today our trek will be a very easy one which starts towards Lidderwat on the well-marked trail with towering pine trees. Don’t miss out on the breathtaking views of the valley alongside the gushing river. It is almost a flat and easy trail up to Lidderwat and you would encounter a lot of tourists making day trips to the place.
Trek distance: 6 km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude gain and loss: 9,150 Ft – 11,000 Ft
Today, you will find many friendly shepherds on the route and it is a very beautiful valley, not much strenuous. The day’s trek starts with a moderate to steep ascent for 1 hour, followed by a level walk for another hour.
We leave the tree line behind and ascend gradually for 1 more hour to reach the Shekwas. From here one can get a good view of the surrounding mountains and the path heading up to Tarsar lake.
Trek distance: 4 km | Trek Duration: 4-5 hours | Altitude gain: 11,000 Ft – 12,450 Ft
Today we trek through the lush green meadows, which we start by climbing a small ridge high above the stream after which the trail climbs steeply to a high-point offering incredible views. Two more hours from there, a narrow glimpse of Tarsar lake appears, a delightful sight which refreshes you.
Overnight Camp at Tarsar Lake.
Trek distance: 6 km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours | Altitude gain: 12,450 Ft – 12,950 Ft
This would be the most challenging and exciting day of the trek as we would cross the Tarsar Pass at an
altitude of 13,500 feet. We would be covering a distance of 6 kms in approximately 5-6 hours. It would start with a steep descent followed by a steady descent and then a gentle ascent.
Trek distance: 10 km | Trek Duration: 7-8 hours | Altitude loss: 12,950 Ft – 11,400 Ft via 13,000 Ft
We will be ascending higher up through Marsar ridge. The top of the ridge view reveals the translucent blue Marsar Lake lying somewhere down below. You must take the trail leading to Marsar towards the boulder-led trail. Marsar has the same almond-shaped outline as Tarsar and almost as big.
Snow shaped elevations happen to rise just along one fringe of the Lake, offsetting its blueness.
Now we descend back to Sundarsar camp and then to Homwas, trailing almost along the same way that we came by.
Trek distance: 13km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude loss: 11,400 Ft – 7920 Ft and 5200 Ft
Drive Distance: 5-6 hours | Drive Duration: 103 km
Starting early morning today, we descend from Homwas to Aru, sweeping over the same enchanting meadow lands we had experienced on the first days, and the same Lidder River, now to be followed downstream. We will cover the 13 km distance between Lidderwat to Aru in approx 6-7 hours. Then we will drive back to Srinagar.
Overnight stay at Srinagar.
Today, we will rest at Srinagar. This day can be used as Buffer Day in between the trek days also. This depends on weather condition & health condition of the group.
If the day is at rest, clients can enjoy local sightseeing at extra cost. Kindly have a word with HM Officials for necessary support & arrangements.
After breakfast, check-out from hotel & get ready to be dropped at Srinagar Airport.
