Sar Pass Trek has one of the most beautiful trekking trails consisting of cascading waterfalls, lush green valleys, and the pristine Parvati river. It is also one of the most popular treks in the months of May and June. It is one of those treks where trekkers find all kinds of terrains together. From rolling meadows to lush forests, remote villages to snow-capped mountains, this trek has it all! Covering about 45 kilometres and spanning over five days, the Sar Pass Trek will truly test your limits, but reward you with natural bounties all the same.

The Sar Pass trek offers many picturesque landscapes for you to marvel at. When you are traversing and on your way to the Biskeri Ridge, you will come across a small frozen lake given the name Sar which gives you the impression of being in a fairyland with its 100ft tall snow-laden slopes that surround it. Sar pass trek is that ideal place to let come out all your fantasies related to snow and the snow-capped mountains. The place is having an eternal touch of nature which gives it an edge over other trekking sites. The place is calming and drenched in a wave of optimism making it more interesting.

DAY-WISE TREK ITINERARY

Day 01: Receive Guests from New Delhi & reach Shimla

  • Time taken: 7-8 hours’ drive from New Delhi Railway Station / New Delhi Airport

We heartily welcome you at New Delhi Railway Station / New Delhi Airport. Then after, drive for about 366 Km to reach Shimla. Check-in hotel & rest for the day.

Day 02: Drive from Shimla to Kasol

  • Time taken: 6-7 hours’ drive from Shimla.

Today we will drive for about 229 Kms to reach Kasol. 

You can spend rest of the day visiting Kasol as Kasol is one of the important tourist places in India.

Day 03: Trek from Kasol to Grahan village (5,578 ft – 7,710 ft)

Trek Time: 4-5 hours || Trek Distance: 10 Kms

The trail commences from the centre of Kasol towards the first campsite- Grahan village. It is a very relaxed one and is very easy to navigate as it’s often used by the villagers. It covers Pine forest and steep forward till Grahan Nahal. After Grahan Nahal the trail becomes more rocky and sleepy. After an hour of trek we will reach Grahan Village. 

Day 04: Trek from Grahan to Min Thach (7,710 ft – 11,155 ft)

Trek Time: 5-6 hours || Trek Distance: 10 Kms

After having breakfast, the trek starts to Min Thatch. During the trail we will cross over the view of Min Thatch, Nagaru and Sar top. The steeper trail will take you to the woods.
Cross the lush green forest and reach Min Thatch.

Admire the Chanderkhani stretch and many more ranges from the campsite at Min Thatch.

Day 05: Trek from Min Thach to Nagaru (11,155 ft – 12,500 ft)

Trek Time: 5-6 hours || Trek Distance: 6 Kms

Be prepared to have an early start from Min Thatch towards Nagaru. The locals and the trekkers suggest covering this stretch in the first half of the day itself as the climate may fluctuate and change very abruptly and drastically post afternoon. It should take about 5-6 hours to reach your next campsite. Nagaru is blessed with beautiful mountains across the Parvati valley but with chilling winds making it very cold.

Enjoy the mesmerizing vistas of the magnificent mountain across the Parvati valley. See the small glittering lights of the Manikaran town as the night sets in.

Day 06: Trek from Nagaru to Biskeri Thach Via Sar Pass (12,500 ft to 10,990 ft Via 13,700 ft)

Trek Time: 8-9 hours || Trek Distance: 14 Kms

Wake up before dawn breaks and start your final trail towards the Sar pass by following the ridge line in the direction of the south. As you reach the summit, the piercing drop of a hundred feet will unfold the surreal beauty of the valley ahead. The rush of being on the zenith is impossible to define in words. Once the views will soak in your system, all the exhaustion of the climb will start fading away into nirvana. After crossing Sar Pass then you need to be very careful while you walk down the hill. Then cross some magical water streams to reach the Biskeri Thatch by evening

Day 07: Trek from Biskeri Thach to Barshaini and drive to Kasol (10,990 ft - 7,875 ft)

Trek Time: 4-5 hours || Trek Distance: 10 Kms || Drive Distance: 15 Kms ||                        Drive Duration: 1 hr 

Start trekking downhill through the dense forest, crossing a stream, and then reach Pulga. The twin village Pulga and Tulga are separated by a stream. Cross the bridge on the Parvati River to reach the Barshaini Village. 

After we reached Barshaini Village we will drive back to Kasol.

Day 08 : Drive from Kasol to Shimla

  • Time taken: 6-7 hours’ drive from Kasol.

Today we will drive back to Shimla. 

Day 09 : Rest Day at Shimla

Today, we will rest at Shimla. This day can be used as Buffer Day in between the trek days also. This depends on weather condition & health condition of the group. 

If the day is at rest, clients can enjoy local sightseeing at extra cost. Kindly have a word with HM Officials for necessary support & arrangements.

Day 10: Drive back to New Delhi

We start in the morning & get back to New Delhi Railway Station / New Delhi Airport as per schedule. You should not book your return flight tickets on this day. Get in touch with Himalayan Memories team for a suggestion or support.
