Dayara Bugyal, a velvety meadow sprawling over the verdant hills of Garhwal is one of the best treks for the beginners. Since the meadow experiences snow-fall in December, it makes it one of the best winter treks in Uttarakhand. This enchanting meadow is bounded by thick woodlands and the exotic Himalayan flora-fauna. One can see the gurgling streams, snow-studded peaks and the shepherd huts dotted near the trail of Dayara Bugyal. The astonishing meadows allure and invite skiers from all across the country during the winter months when the entire valley gets covered with thick sheets of snow. While passing through the lush green valley and the forested areas, you get to witness the dynamic beauty of the rhododendron flowers blooming all around. While on Dayara Bugyal trek you can vividly spot the famous Mt. Bandarpoonch and the Black peak on the right. Under the warm sun, they glow and offers the best views of themselves. On setting your foot at Raithal, the base camp for Dayara, one can see John Lee and Draupadi ka Danda painted in the crimson hues of dusk. Shrikhand Mahadev and Gangotri peaks are also visible at a distance. The clarity of such views with so much comfort and easy terrain is what makes this trek perfect for people of all ages.
Dayara Bugyal trek guide you to one of the largest high-altitude Bugyal which expanses about 28 sq. km in length. Imagine approximately 3900 football fields together filled with lush green meadows or pure white snow.

We heartily welcome you at Dehradun Railway Station / Dehradun Airport. Then after, drive for about 179 kms to reach Natin Village.

When the trek of Dayara Bugyal kicks in, you can see a plethora of vegetation ushering you in the journey. A blend of trees and shrubs, Maple, Oak and Pine forests are there to usher you further. As you walk along, you will feel the dry leaves crushing beneath and the wet plants caressing your skin. After a steep climbing for 5-6 hrs we will reach our campsite. Alpine trees surround the campsite. Near the campsite, you will find charming village huts with clear views of Shrikanth peak and the Gangotri range.
Trek Distance: 3 kms || Trek Duration: 2-3 hrs
The total distance we will cover today is about 3 km. The trail is a mix of flat lands and steep gradients. We will head towards a small meadow in the forest called Gui Thatch. Gui Thatch has incredible views of the entire Gangotri range. These include Shrikanth, and Gangotri I, II and III. If we look straight; we will see the Jaonli peak. On our left, we can spot the top of the Bandarpoonch Peak.
Thatch allows us to soak in the beauty of the Himalayan highlands and the rhododendron trees that dot it. This easy walk lasts about 500 m before the path begins to steepen. Another half-hour-walk and we will arrive at Chilapada.
Today we will rest at Chilapada. This day can be used as Buffer Day in between trek days also. This depends on weather conditions & health Condition of the group.
Also we will explore the campsite and acclimatize for tomorrow, the biggest day of our trek.
Trek Distance: 12 kms|| Trek Duration: 10 – 11 hrs
Today it will be an easy trail for us. The trail opens up gradually and leads to meadows as we descend the forest. we will soon be trudging through the meadows, which are bursting with colour. On reaching the top, we will get to witness the mesmerizing views of Bandarpoonch range, Dodital range, and the mind-boggling views of the surroundings, mountain peaks, and forest.
Dayara Bugyal is pretty in all seasons. If you go here from May to June, you will find plenty of yellow, white and violet flowers. In winters, the snow covers the whole expanse.
Trek Distance: 5 kms|| Trek Duration: 4-5 hrs
Today will be the last day of our trek. The trail is quite similar to the trail that we covered on Day 2. While continuing our trail from there, we can take the last glimpses of Mt. Bandarpunch, as we leave it behind.
We will say our good byes and will drive back to Dehradun.
