Tilicho lake with Mesokanto Pass trek is a substitute trek route of the Throng La Pass trek.  Complete route is from Manang village to Jomsom inside of Annapurna region trekking trails. The trails of Mesokanto Pass goes through the well-known lake named Tilicho, highest lake in the world at altitude 16,138 ft. Tilicho lake with Mesokanto Pass trek is an exciting and stunning route as well as a bit technical mainly the downhill section from the Mesokanto Pass. To cross the Mesokanto Pass, we require proper equipment including crampons, rope and tented for two days as well. From Manang village the trek diverts to Tilicho Lake with mind-blowing scenery and snow caped mountains, enjoyable time in Tilicho with its emerald and turquoise colour lake, we cross above highest point  over Mesokanta-la pass at 17,488 ft.

This year, Himalayan Memories was on an expedition to Mesokanto Pass with a group strength of 10 trekkers. We started from Kolkata on 27th May, 23 via Howrah Station – Raxaul Station. From there we crossed the Indo-Nepal Border & reached Besi Sahar from Birjung (border of Nepal). Finally the trek ended up unsuccessful as we had to retreat 300 metre before Tilicho Lake. Reason for the mission being failed was excessive snowfall & huge ice deposits which made our trail challenging & later impossible for one to climb high.
