We understand the pain of cancelling a trek or a camp or a family tour package. As trekkers or a traveller, we always look forward to treks or holiday tours with your family members, and after months of planning, if we have to cancel our booking, there is no greater disappointment than that.
And we understand that sometimes, unforeseen events could lead to you cancelling your bookings. If you want to cancel your booking, please refer to this document, and no other document, to learn about the Himalayan Memories Cancellation Policy.
Take a look at the Himalayan Memories’ cancellation policy below. This policy is effective from 1st April, 2023.
In the event that you cancel your booking, this is the cancellation policy we follow: –
Cancellation 30 days before the starting date of the trek / camp / tour — Get your 85% full trek / tour fee back in a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher (validity upto 6 months) OR get a monetary refund with 25% cancellation charges.
Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days before the starting date of the trek / camp / tour — Get 65% of the booking value in a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher (validity upto 6 months) OR get a monetary refund with 50% cancellation charges.
Cancellation between 15 days and 7 days before the starting date of the trek / camp / tour — Get 35% of the booking value in a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher (validity upto 6 months) OR get a monetary refund with 25% cancellation charges.
Cancellation less than 7 days before the starting date of the trek / camp / tour — No monetary refund, get 10% of your booking value in a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher (validity upto 12 months).
In the rare event that we cancel your booking, this is the cancellation policy we follow: –
We almost never cancel our bookings. But in case we cancel a program because of natural calamities (snowstorms, thunderstorms, floods, landslides, earthquakes) or unexpected political unrest, curfews, local riots, government orders, Himalayan Memories will issue a voucher for the half amount of your booking amount (minus the train / flight / insurance amount). You can redeem the Credit Voucher on any of our programs over the next 12 months.
Special Cases That Could Occur:
There are some special cases that could occur when you’re on a trek or a camp or a family package tour.
In the above two cases, you’re welcome to come back but we are sorry to say that we won’t be able to refund any amount on such cases.
In the third case, if we cannot accommodate you in the next day’s trek or tour, we are sorry to say that we won’t be able to refund any amount on such cases.

How long does the refund process take?
After you have cancelled your booking, if you have opted for a refund, the refund amount will land in the same account that you have made the payment from. It will take 10-15 working days.
If you have chosen a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher, it will land in your email within 2-3 working days.
What is a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher?
Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher is the credit amount added to your Himalayan Memories account in form of a ‘Coupon Code’. You can redeem these on any of your future treks / camping / family package tours with Himalayan Memories. Every Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher has a validity of 6 months.
Important note: Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher are non-refundable, not transferable to others or extendable.
How to use a Himalayan Memories Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher?
If you have received a Himalayan Memories Credit Voucher, you may use it when you are making a payment for your next trek or tour with us.
Once you click on the voucher and apply it, the system will deduct the voucher amount from your payable amount.
